The 11am problem
A beautiful deck, and nobody on it until dinner.
There is a specific kind of regret that arrives every summer around eleven. The outdoor table you chose carefully. The chairs you matched to it. And a sun that has made the whole thing unusable until six.
The Nubrana Sail exists for that hour.
The engineering
It isn’t the fabric that fails. It’s the cut.
Cheap sails are cut flat. Nothing pulls tension into the middle of the fabric, so by January the centre has dropped and the whole thing hangs like a wet tent fly.
Nubrana sails are cut with curved edges. Tension is drawn into the sheet from all four corners, so it sits flat and stays flat.
Cooler, not darker
A shade sail shouldn’t just make the backyard darker.
The knit blocks up to 95% of UV but breathes — hot air escapes up through the weave instead of getting trapped under it. One customer measured their pool running about five degrees cooler after hanging theirs over the water.
Cooler, not darker
The knit breathes. Hot air rises through the weave instead of collecting underneath, so the shade is cooler air rather than trapped air.
Everything in the box
Sail, reinforced stainless D-rings at every corner, and the complete mounting kit. One trip up the ladder, no second order.
Up in under an hour
Four corners, four anchor points, a drill and a ladder. No trade required, no second hardware-store trip.
Nubrana Sail — Curved-Edge Shade Sail, Sand

The deck you paid for, usable again. Blocks up to 95% of UV while the breathable knit lets heat escape instead of trapping it — so the space underneath is genuinely cooler, not just darker.

Curved edges that stay tight. Flat-cut sails sag by Christmas. Our curved-edge cut pulls tension into the fabric from all four corners, so the sail sits flat and stays flat.
Blocks up to 95% of UV. Dense-knit HDPE shade fabric takes the sting out of the sun over your deck, patio or pool.
Cooler, not stuffier. The breathable weave lets hot air rise through the fabric instead of trapping it underneath — and rain passes through, so water never pools overhead.
Everything in the box. Sail, reinforced stainless D-rings at every corner, and the complete mounting hardware kit. One trip up the ladder, no second order.
11am. 34 degrees. Still usable.
The shade lands where you sit, not three metres to the left at two o’clock.
$79 sail, replaced three times.
Or buy one once. It isn’t the fabric that fails on cheap sails — it’s the cut and the thread.
An honest sail company
What we won’t claim says more than what we will.
It isn’t waterproof — rain passes through, so water never pools over your head. You can’t leave it up in a storm; take it down, it clips off in about a minute. And it isn’t magic. It’s a curved-edge cut that holds tension where flat sails sag.
Questions, answered
How exactly does it attach?
Four corners, four anchor points. Fix the supplied mounts into structural timber or masonry, then tension each corner with the supplied turnbuckles. Most people are done in under an hour. The only tools are a drill and a ladder.
Will it actually be cooler, or just shadier?
Both. The knit blocks up to 95% of UV, and because the fabric breathes, hot air escapes upward instead of collecting underneath. One customer measured their pool running about five degrees cooler after installing theirs over the water.
What happens when it rains?
Rain passes straight through the weave. That is deliberate — it prevents water pooling above your head, and it is a large part of why permeable sails outlast waterproof ones.
Will it sag after a season?
Sagging is the signature failure of flat-cut budget sails. The curved-edge cut holds tension across the whole sheet. Tension it properly at install and re-check the turnbuckles once a season.
What about strong wind?
Take it down. Any honest shade sail company will tell you the same. Unclipping takes about a minute.
Returns?
Thirty days, no drama. If it is not right for your space, send it back.
First production run
Half price, until the first run sells through.
We price launch stock at 50% off for one reason: reviews. Early customers get the full product for half the price, and we get the photographs and reviews a new brand cannot buy. When this run sells through, the price goes to full and stays there.
